Terms of Sale

These terms govern sales of original artworks by Elizabeth Cook on this site. By placing an order you accept these terms.

The seller is Elizabeth Cook, Court Artist. “We”, “us”, and “our” refer to the artist or her studio.

We sell original artworks only. One of one. No editions. No prints. Unless stated otherwise, mediums are pastel and pencil on paper.

Titles, dates, courts and materials are given in good faith. Minor variations in colour may occur due to screen settings.

Prices are listed in GBP. You are responsible for any import duties or local charges.

Placing an item in the basket does not reserve it. An order is accepted when payment is taken. We researve the right to decline any order.

We accept card payment at checkout.

Title passes on receipt of cleared funds. Risk passes on delivery or collection.

UK delivery is by Royal Mail Parcelforce. International delivery is by prior agreement. The original artwork is shipped flat in a lightweight, temporary perspex frame, ready for reframing (package size 55cm x 45cm).

Each artwork is signed by the artist. Court, date and reference are recorded on the artwork where possible.

Refunds and damaged items

All sales are final. Because each work is unique, returns are not accepted.
If a work arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs of the damage and the packaging. Once verified, we will issue a full refund of the purchase price. The artwork should not be returned unless requested.

Copyright

You are purchasing the physical original only. Copyright remains with the artist unless otherwise assigned in writing. The artist’s moral rights are asserted.

Publishing and reproduction rights remain with PA Media and Alamy. Buying the original does not include reproduction rights, any licenses must be sought direct with PA Media. Alamy or the artist.

Display in private or in Chambers is permitted. You may not copy, scan, photograph or distribute the image without a licence. You may not mint, train, or use the image in any AI dataset. You may not create merchandise from the image.

Courtroom sketching in England and Wales is prohibited inside the courtroom. Drawings are made from memory outside. Some hearings carry reporting restrictions. We will not release a work if a restriction applies. You must not publish or display a work in a way that breaches a restriction or risks contempt.

We may cancel an order and refund you in full if the work is unavailable, mislisted, restricted, or if we suspect misuse.

We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability will not exceed the price paid for the work. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

You agree to indemnify us for any loss arising from unauthorised reproduction, breach of restriction, or unlawful use.

We process personal data to fulfil orders and provide support. Please see our Privacy Notice below for details.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

We may update these terms at any time. The version on the site at the time of order will apply.

Privacy & Cookie Notice

This website is run by Elizabeth Cook, a UK-based court artist. I take your privacy seriously and only collect the information I need to process your orders and run my business.

1. What I collect

When you place an order or contact me, I collect:

  • Your name

  • Email address

  • Shipping address

  • Billing address (if different)

  • Payment details (handled securely by Stripe – I never see or store your full card information)

2. How I use your information

I use your details to:

  • Process and deliver your order

  • Communicate with you about your purchase

  • Keep basic records for tax and accounting

I don’t share or sell your information to anyone else for marketing purposes.

3. Payments

All payments are processed through Stripe, which keeps your details safe and private. You can read their policy here: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy

4. How long I keep your data

I keep order information for up to seven years (as required for tax purposes). After that, it’s securely deleted.

5. Cookies

This website is built with Squarespace, which uses cookies to help it function properly and to understand how people use the site.
These cookies may collect basic information such as which pages you visit and how long you spend on them.
